PTO Travel Guides

Maximize the travel. Minimize the PTO.

You do not need a two-week vacation to travel internationally. You need a weekend, an honest look at the calendar, and — at most — one or two days off placed exactly where they do the most work. This is how PTO Escape plans every guide.

Start from the calendar, not the wish list.

The weekend is already yours. Every trip is planned around days you don't have to ask for — then extended only where it buys real time on the ground.

Spend PTO where it multiplies.

One day off placed next to a public holiday can be worth three. The same day spent mid-week buys almost nothing. Placement matters more than quantity.

Count hours in the destination, not days away.

A Thursday-night departure and a Monday-evening return is a four-day trip on one PTO day. Red-eyes, short-haul routes and single-base itineraries protect that time.

Browse by the days you can actually spare

Each archive builds itself from published guide metadata — PTO days required, trip length and holiday strategy. Counts below are live.

The next long-weekend windows

Upcoming US federal holidays with the days already free around them, and the smallest PTO booking that extends each one. Dates follow the federal observance rule (a Saturday holiday is observed the Friday before, a Sunday holiday the Monday after).
